Heating and cooling can account for more than half of a home¹s energy costs.** When equipment is not sized or installed correctly, this percentage can be even higher. Improper installation can also increase the on-off cycling of the equipment, which can compromise comfort and increase wear and tear.

When you turn to Hearth & Home for the installation or replacement of your home comfort system, you can rest assured the job will be done right, by a trained and skilled professional. We have extensive hands-on experience with all makes and models of heating and cooling equipment, as well as indoor air quality systems.

Most of our customers choose the 10 Year Parts and Labor Warranty on all our installations, regardless of the brand. No headaches or unexpected repair bills for 10 years.
It just doesn’t get any better than that.

Buying a New Home Comfort System
If you're like most people, your home is your biggest investment. And a new home comfort system is a big investment in your home! So we offer the following information to help you with your buying decision.

How a Heat Pump Works
The Heat Pump Total Comfort system provides complete comfort. In the summer, it circulates cool air throughout the home while absorbing hot air and releasing it outside. In the winter, the heat pump simply reverses the process.

You may be surprised to learn that there is heat in the air on even the coldest days. The heat pump system absorbs this heat from the outdoor air, raises it to a higher temperature, and then circulates it throughout your home.

Energy Ratings
Because the heat pump system heats in cold weather and cools in hot weather, it carries two energy-efficient ratings.

Cooling efficiency is rated by a "Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio," also known as "SEER". The higher the SEER rating, the more efficient the system.

Heating efficiencies are expressed by the "Heating Seasonal Performance Factor," or "HSPF." Like SEER, the more efficient the system, the higher the HSPF rating.

We also specialize in the following:
Natural and LP Gas Systems
Air Conditioning with Electric Heat
Mobile Home Package Units

Commercial and Industrial Sales and Service
ENERGY POLICY ACT

The Energy Policy Act of 2005, a new national energy law signed by President Bush in August of 2005 provides purchasers of highly efficient heating and cooling equipment with tax credits of up to $300 for purchasing qualifying equipment as detailed below.

These credits are available for systems placed in service from
January 1, 2006 through December 31, 2007.
What is a Tax Credit?

Unlike a purchase rebate, you receive an income tax credit when filing your Federal Income Tax at the end of the year. The credit then increases the tax refund you receive or decreases the amount of Federal Tax you have to pay.
What types of equipment qualify and how much?*

• High Efficiency central air conditioning units with a seasonal energy efficiency ratio (SEER) of at
least 15 and an energy efficiency ratio (EER) of at least 12.5: $300.00
• High Efficiency electric heat pump units with a seasonal energy efficiency ratio (SEER) of at
least 15, an energy efficiency ratio (EER) of at least 13 as well as a heating seasonal performance
factor (HSPF) of at least 9: $300.00
• High Efficiency gas, oil, and propane furnaces and boilers with at least a 95 percent annual fuel
utilization efficiency (AFUE): $150.00
• High Efficiency air-circulating fans in furnaces that use no more than 2 percent of the total
annual energy use of the furnace: $50.00
& TAX CREDIT PROGRAM
*The equipment is eligible if installed in a new home or existing home used as the taxpayer’s principal residence. If installed in a new
home, it is likely that the Energy Policy Act Tax Credit cannot be applied if applying for a “new home credit” with the IRS.
How Do I Apply for the Tax Credit?

You will need to file the appropriate IRS form with your taxes. In addition, you will
need to keep receipts showing the purchase of the qualifying equipment and a copy of
the manufacturer’s certification.

Manufacturers will certify (in packaging or on a company website) which of their products qualify for the tax credit. Visit www.ase.org for additional information
